Acceptable Use Policy

What is and is not permitted when using RentJinie, covering unlawful content, security, fair use of resources and enforcement.

Last updated

This policy forms part of our Terms & Conditions. It applies to everyone who uses RentJinie — owners, managers and staff. Its purpose is to keep the platform safe, lawful and reliable for every business on it.

You must not use RentJinie to

  • Break any applicable law, or rent out goods you are not legally permitted to rent.
  • Store or transmit unlawful, obscene, defamatory or harassing content.
  • Infringe anyone's intellectual property, including uploading product images or descriptions you have no right to use.
  • Store personal data you have no lawful basis to hold, or capture ID proof without your customer's knowledge and consent.
  • Impersonate another business or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.
  • Send unsolicited bulk messages, spam or misleading promotional content to your customers through the platform.

Security

You must not attempt to compromise the platform or other tenants on it. Specifically, do not:

  • Probe, scan or test the vulnerability of any system without our prior written permission.
  • Attempt to access another organisation's data, or bypass tenant isolation, authentication or authorisation.
  • Introduce malware, or interfere with the Service through denial-of-service or similar techniques.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source code of the platform or the mobile apps.
  • Share account credentials, or use another person's account without authorisation.

Fair use of resources

Plans include limits on stores, inventory items and staff. Beyond those, we expect reasonable use of storage, bandwidth, exports and API calls where API access is included.

Automated bulk requests that degrade the Service for others may be rate-limited. If your genuine usage is unusually heavy, talk to us and we will find a workable arrangement rather than cut you off.

Reporting a problem

If you find a security vulnerability, please report it to us privately and give us a reasonable opportunity to fix it before disclosing it publicly. We will not pursue action against good-faith security research that respects user privacy and does not degrade the Service.

To report abuse of the platform by another user, contact us with as much detail as you can provide.

Enforcement

Where we can, we will contact you first and give you a chance to put things right. For serious or repeated breaches — particularly anything unlawful or that threatens other tenants — we may suspend or terminate access immediately and, where required, report the matter to the authorities.
